InnerRoads Wilderness Program provides quality, affordable wilderness therapy to troubled teenagers and their families. We give adolescents the opportunity for growth, healing and empowerment. To parents we offer a chance for self-reflection, active support and guidance. Our six week intervention program offers therapeutic wilderness and community programming with long term aftercare support for adolescents ages 14-17.

Small Group Size
There is a minimum of 1:2 staff to student ratio in the field, and usually the ratio is even better. Expedition groups are small, with no more than six youth in a group.
Clinical Experience
A licensed clinician meets regularly with each youth, and supervises the treatment process. InnerRoads treatment model was created and implemented by a licensed clinician with over 16 years of wilderness therapy experience. Our individualized approach allows tailoring for specific needs.
Family Involvement
Parents have an essential role in the treatment process. Each parent can have a direct and powerful impact on their child’s growth.

High School Credit
Teens are eligible for earning two
high school credits during the six week program. Our wilderness expedition curriculum consists of experientially-based field learning.
Community Transitioning
After the wilderness portion of the program, InnerRoads offers a unique opportunity for youth to participate in community service, family-based activities and family therapy.

Aftercare services are available to support your family after your child returns home.

InnerRoads is based in Missoula, Montana and expeditions take place in the wild beauty that surrounds us. InnerRoads is granted a special use permit on Nez Perce and Bitterroot National Forests.
