Therapeutic Foster Care
Is an intensive level of foster care serving children of most any age who are struggling with trauma and emotional challenges in his or her life. The services involves more training and support to the foster family and where foster parents, a Treatment Manager, the therapist and referring agency caseworker work as a coordinated Treatment Team to meet a child’s emotional and development needs. Foster parents are encouraged to be clinically involved. Efforts of this service are more team-oriented and directed with the foster family viewed as the important, in-home members of the Team.

Permanency Level Foster Care
This level of care is for children who need either a temporary or long-term supported foster placement, but do not require a coordinated treatment plan for therapeutic care. Some additional resources may be needed for these children but they can be expected to be relatively stable in substitute care; foster parents provide the majority of intervention in these cases. Children may enter our program at this level or step down to it when therapeutic goals have been reached and they are stable in a placement. The family and child each meet with their assigned Caseworker at least once a month.

Adoption Services
We offer a full array of adoptive services. Children can be adopted through us, starting in foster care and working toward permanency with adoption as the child stabilizes. These are often high needs children who are permanent wards of the State of Montana. They often start in our therapeutic service and step down to permanency level prior to adoption being actualized. We provide services to help families through all the steps of the adoption process, often turning the case back over to the State to assist the family in avoiding unnecessary legal fees. Private Adoption Services
As a licensed adoption agency, we contract to provide adoptive home studies for families who plan to adopt through private agencies. Many families use us for home studies needed in international adoption. We also provide birth parents counseling and joint sessions with adoptive parents as needed.

Family Support Services
This service is designed to help biological, adoptive or foster families (not already involved in therapeutic foster care) work through crisis or difficulties in their home. Our goal is that children are able to stay in their family home without out-of-home placements or be maintained and stabilized in an already existing out-of-home family placement. By offering support, guidance and coaching parents are able to see improvements in their family circumstance with the help of our professional support staff. The length of our involvement with a family varies for each child and family, but it is generally between 3-12 months.

Guide Homes
Guide Homes places juveniles, coming out of the State’s Correctional Institutions, into individual placements (one youth in one home) with adults who act in the parents’ role and serves as guides to these adolescents who are transitioning from institutional stays into productive community lives. We assist these youth through supported living, guidance, mentoring, counseling, community resources, educational opportunities and relationships at a level they can accept.

Casey Family Program
In 2004, Casey Family Program decided to discontinue their work in the state of Montana, yet continue to contract for services for the youth who were currently in their care. They chose the Youth Homes to provide the service to the youth in all components of care including foster and adoptive care, guardianship care, and Transition and CEJT (education and job training) services. Admission to these services is closed to Montana cases so only youth who are in care or had been previously admitted to the program are eligible for services.
