Friends to Youth
Friends to Youth was added to the Youth Homes’ organization in 2011 to expand counseling and therapy services to children and families under the new “Friends to Youth In-Home and Outpatient Services program”, which will reside under the Dan Fox Family Care Program of Youth Homes.
Friends to Youth Executive Director, Joe Loos, LCSW, and three other therapists from Friends to Youth have joined Youth Homes to provide outpatient therapy for children and families and family-based therapy for families referred by Child and Family Services. “This move makes it possible for our services to be available and sustainable for the long term,” said Loos. “Combining the two organizations allows us to reduce administrative costs and create efficiencies we wouldn’t have on our own.”
Youth Homes Executive Director Geoff Birnbaum said the success and longevity of both programs lent themselves to a natural blending. “Having carried similar missions over our common history, we feel we are capable of carrying on the work, quality and mission within which Friends to Youth has served youth so well and successfully.”
Friends to Youth has provided therapeutic services to youth and their families since 1976. The organization has successfully kept thousands of families together or reunified families who had been broken apart in crisis.
