Group Home - Dennis Radtke Home For Boys
Program Description
The Dennis Radtke Home for Boys is a four-bed intensive level therapeutic
group home serving adolescent boys in a residential neighborhood
in the Missoula community. The Radtke program specializes in the
treatment and supervision of boys lacking adequate moral development.
A trained and caring staff provides an environment where young men
can learn life skills, gain insight and empathy, participate in
community programs, and make positive changes in their lives.

Program Structure
At the Dennis Radtke Home for Boys, the young men receive:
- A safe, stable and creative environment from a staff including
an on-site therapist, highly trained youth care workers and a
Home Manager.
- Group therapy three times per week with individual sessions
twice per week focused on developing healthy coping, problem-solving
skills, and moral development.
- A highly structured system, using graduated privileges, that
teaches social skills and encourages positive behavior using cognitive
behavior techniques.
- A physical fitness program to improve cardiovascular health
and general fitness so that participation in challenging physical
fitness activities will be a positive experience.
- Access to community resources, including local Missoula schools,
recreational and cultural activities and involvement in community
service projects.
Placement Criteria
The Radtke Home is targeted to meet the unique needs of adolescent
boys, ages 14 to 18, who are lacking social skills and moral development
that then results in acting-out behaviors that are often impulsive
and anti-social. Many of these boys are victims of abuse and neglect
or were raised in chaotic or violent settings. The boys are struggling
with severe emotional disturbances and are guilty of major thinking
errors.
