About Youth Homes
Founded in 1971, Youth Homes, Inc. is a non-profit organization
in Western Montana which has been caring for children who are unable
to live with their own families. These children have usually experienced
a high level of abuse, neglect or family crisis, and are themselves
exhibiting behavioral and coping problems.
Over the years, we have developed an array of services to meet
a variety of needs. Currently, we operate six group homes, an emergency
shelter in Missoula, Helena, Flathead and Ravalli County, and a
foster care and adoption program.
- Today, we serve the out-of-home needs of over 200 children age
4-18 and their families daily.
- Our group homes care for children and youth who have been diagnosed
as needing therapeutic treatment.
- Our group homes provide moderate and intensive, short and long-term
care with co-educational and single-gender treatment homes.
- As part of a nationwide effort, we shelter runaways and homeless
youth.
- We are licensed to provide adoption services. We provide a Learning
Lab to offer educational opportunities to youngsters not served
by our local schools.
- We offer family support services that enable us to follow children
home after treatment to help solidify their gains there.
- Attachment-related disturbances are addressed through our partnership
with Intermountain Children's Home called the "Partnership
for Children."
