Short Term Care

Some families are not interested in making the full-time commitment fostering or adopting a child. For those families, providing Respite Care is a way that they can help our program.

  • Respite care is any service or program which provides care for a person while the primary caregiver is engaged in another activity, other than employment.
  • Respite care is any service providing families with a break from everyday tasks and activities that are central to the care and well being of persons requiring a high level of care and supervision.
  • Respite care with the Dan Fox Program is one weekend a month, from Friday evening through Sunday evening.
  • The the Dan Fox program matches a foster child with a respite family.
  • All respite families read the foster child’s file before the initial meeting of the child.
  • Respite parents are paid a $75 stipend per weekend for caring for the child.
