Become a Foster Care or Adoptive Parent

You Care for Them and We’ll Care for You

FOSTER CARE

Financial Support: Foster Parents receive a monthly stipend to cover the cost of caring for a child. This stipend is more than enough to pay for groceries, transportation, allowances and incidentals. It is also non-taxable. Additionally, a child’s health care costs are not the responsibility of the Foster Parent. There is also money available to pay for special needs and activities.

Placement Support: Each family is assigned a caseworker who works closely with the family. The caseworker provides emotional support, care and treatment planning and holds regular meetings with the family. The family can call their caseworker 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in case of emergencies and crises. In addition to monthly parent training, support groups are also held for the families.

Respite Care: Parenting is hard work. We understand that and all families receive a
break away from the child each month. During the break, the foster child will be cared for by a qualified respite parent.
