Distances for each leg are slightly different from their title (i.e. 10k and 5k). Please see the Race page for details of those distances. The Glacier Challenge is celebrating its 6th year as a 6-leg multi-sport relay. Racers come from all over to compete and particpate in the race that is rapidly becoming a much-anticipated event by racersand by-standers alike.
The race begins at Riverside Park in downtown Whitefish, Montana and winds its way through backstreets, rivers, lakes and up and down singletrack. By the time the race is completed,
participants will have run, biked, and paddled through 55 miles of beautiful Montana country. Racers may enter as individuals, partners, and teams [3-7 members]. We invite both competative and recreational racers to jon us for the 2008 Glacier Challenge.

The Glacier Challenge is a benefit for the Flathead Youth Home and our work with area at-risk youth. The Flathead Youth Home has been caring for kids in crisis for over 11 years and in that time, offered shelter to more than one thousand kids.
The kids who come to us have crashed into a crisis and for a brief time, they are in need of a place to call home. They are kids whose parents can no longer take care of them. They struggle with chemical dependency and mental health issues. They are abused and neglected. They are runaways looking for a home. We are passionate about making sure that these kids always have a safe place to turn when crisis arises. The Glacier Challenge is just one more way we are ensuring our kids are always cared. We are grateful to our sponsors, racers, and volunteers for assisting us in this big and bold work.
