What happens after the program?
Sometimes the transition back home is challenging. To help, we offer a variety of services.
The needs of every family are different, so we work to provide a variety of additional opportunities including individual therapy for the youth and/or parent(s), and family therapy. We will work with all the professionals involved with the family to help the transition home or to the youth’s next placement be successful.
For area families, we connect the youth with a mentor who is committed to meeting with the teen on a weekly basis for 6 to 9 months following the program. Mentors join in on community service projects and recreational activities during the community homestead time to begin to share the group experience and foster their mentorship with each teen. By graduation, kids and their mentors make plans to connect on their own for weekly activities such as bowling, hiking or getting coffee. Mentors meet with our Program Director monthly to track the progress of the teens and act as a liaison between the teen and their family and our program.
